INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb mild Italian sausage, casings removed, cooked and drained
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 7 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 3 28oz cans diced tomatoes + 1 can water
  • 2 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp brown sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. In large pot, stir together all ingredients
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes to 1 hour
  4. Remove bay leaf before serving
